From June 2 to 6, Guangxi University participated in the 2026 "Study in Guangxi" International Education Expo. Yu Wenjin, Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice President of the university, attended the event.

During the expo, the Guangxi university conducted in-depth inter-university exchanges, engaging successively with the National University of Laos, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur University of Science and Technology, Universiti Malaysia Perlis, and Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology. The discussions focused on exploring cooperation ideas and pathways regarding faculty and student exchanges, scientific research collaboration, joint talent cultivation, and the promotion of Chinese language education, with consensus reached on multiple cooperation matters.

On behalf of the GXU, Yu Wenjin signed an inter-university cooperation agreement with Universiti Putra Malaysia. Under the agreement, both sides committed to continuously advancing cooperation in the characteristic disciplines of agriculture and forestry, and to deepening academic exchanges, scientific research collaboration, and joint talent cultivation. He also visited the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia and the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia, and held talks with the Education Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Laos, where he presented the university's achievements in educational development and its ASEAN-oriented internationalization strategy, among other aspects.

This international education expo was organized by the Education Department of the Autonomous Region and held in Vientiane, Laos, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Guangxi University set up a dedicated exhibition booth, receiving a total of over 800 visits from local students, parents, and educators. Through graphic displays, video presentations, on-site Q&A sessions, and the distribution of materials, the university comprehensively promoted its distinctive educational features, disciplinary strengths, talent cultivation, and achievements in international development. It also provided detailed introductions to the talent training system and scholarship schemes for international students, actively attracting high-quality students from ASEAN countries.

During the expo, the university designated three well-known local secondary schools as overseas quality student source bases, further expanding international student recruitment channels and establishing a regular platform to attract more outstanding overseas students to study at Guangxi University.
